Equine Pre-breeding Exams – Our Services

Pre-breeding exams are useful to detect potential problems and residual problems from previous breeding which could reduce the liklihood of becoming pregnant, carrying a fetus to term, or requiring special treatment to aid a live and healthy foal.

This can include an exam of the external genetalia; exam by palpation; and ultrasound of the ovaries, uterus, cervix and vagina. The vet may also take a swab from the uterus to test for bacterial contamination, and they may biosy the uterine mucosa.

Dr Dave has been working in reproduction for over 25 years, servicing many large studs and boutique breeders in South Australia, Victoria, Hunter Valley NSW and Queensland.
